After her haircut we headed off to Petsmart (or as I like to call it the "free zoo"). We started at the wall of fish, always popular, then the cat habitat, past the dogs getting their hair cuts, then the mice (and hampsters and rats, etc.), on to the birds, then to the snakes, lizards, etc., and finally the doggie daycare area. We tried to avoid the dog toy aisle but she managed to pick up a few stuffed toys and look cute toting them around. Caleb slept through all of this :)
Saturday morning we watched Cameron play some tennis (he ended up winning) then we all went to the Old Milton Country Fair in downtown Alpharetta. As soon as we walked up to it Mackenzie got so excited! She started saying "nay, nay" referring to the pony ride area. She then saw the petting zoo and went nuts. She got to feed the sheep, goats, horses and donkeys. Granddad said that the llamas tended to bite so we steered clear of them. She absolutely loved every minute of it and really enjoyed petting the sheep and the goats.
After the zoo we walked around the fair and then got some "fair food" --fish basket, fries, lemonade and a funnel cake, so not nutritious but so good. It was a lot of fun and totally wore Mackenzie out (always a bonus). Caleb, again, slept through the whole thing.
Sunday morning Cameron and I went on a "date" to church while my parents hung out with the kids. After an afternoon of bubble blowing and sidewalk chalk it was time for them to go. Cameron said that after we left Mackenzie got her shoes and went to the door to follow us :( We can't wait until they visit again!
