Happy Halloween

We started the Halloween celebrations that week at Mackenzie's playgroup. The kids all came in their costumes and Lindsay (host mom) had some great decorations and creative food. Mackenzie and the other kids actually tolerated being in their costumes pretty well. Charlie was dressed up as Elmo and I wasn't sure how Mackenzie would do with it (she has a weird fear of Elmo, but not on TV, it's complicated) anyway, she did fine and they all had fun except when it came time for pictures. The pictures themselves tell the whole story...

For Halloween Mackenzie was a bumble bee and Caleb was in a "baby's first Halloween" outfit with a pumpkin hat and socks. At first Mackenzie didn't want to go up to our neighbor's houses but after the first time she did and got candy she was hooked. She kept saying "more, more." After a few houses by us we went to see our neighborhood pal Collin Hardy. He was dressed up as a puppy dog -- so cute. They managed to go to a few houses before it started raining and we had to pack up and go home....that's when the real fun began.

Every time the door rang Mackenzie would run to it yelling "door, door" and after a few times she was passing out the candy herself. There were a few times when boys would come wearing scary masks that she would run back to me in the living room saying "no, no, no." While Cameron and I ate most of her candy she did bite into a kit-kat and sucked out most of the chocolate :) It was a fun night and I can't wait for next year!
